Sessions for Students of Oboe and Composition

Jan Wiese offers workshops and guest sessions for students to strengthen their artistic confidence, stimulate motivation and develop skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s musical profession.

Through practical guidance and insight into contemporary performance, improvisation, technology, composition, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, students gain tools that expand their creative possibilities and professional versatility. The sessions are designed to renew energy in daily practice, deepen understanding of current musical aesthetics, and encourage a more personal, expressive, and distinctive artistic voice.

Teaching Approach

Jan Wiese brings extensive experience in facilitation, teaching, coaching, and cross-disciplinary work linking music, creativity, and leadership.

"Jan’s most important responsibilities have been related to professional advisory work, article writing, and teaching across a broad thematic field connected to leadership and organizations. Within this professional sphere, he has consistently drawn actively on his cross-disciplinary expertise between HR/leadership and culture/music. In 1999, this resulted in the publication of the book on improvisation, Spontankompetanse.

Jan has particular professional and practical strengths in facilitating processes and in coaching. Within the field of coaching, he was a pioneer in Norway. Jan is dedicated, creative, and possesses a high level of personal and professional integrity. He is generous and open in his interactions with others, and in course settings he is able to create a group dynamic that provides truly exceptional learning experiences for those who participate.".  -  E.
